County, Goose Creek or Summerville, dial the 911 emergency service number. The 911 service
number gives callers access to fire, rescue and emergency medical services, as well as police,
sheriff and South Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Residents of Dorchester county should keep a list of local emergency telephone numbers
near the telephone. A critical point homes located on the outskirts of municipalities in the Metro
area generally require service contracts with local fire departments for protection. Call the local
