Markedly, January, 2019 Our real estate market got off to a rocky start. January of 2019 was 16% less busy than January of 2018.  However, we correctly suspected that may have been due to the government shutdown. So, we bounced back with a strong February and now we are only down about 3% in terms of transactions year to date compared with the same 2018 time period. As well as, February 2019 was up 32% over January 2019 in terms of transactions. February 2019 was up 10% over February 2018. Also, the median sales price is up 3.8% to $272,000 YTD.

Furthermore, the economy is booming here. Whereas, tourism, Boeing, Volvo, Mercedes Sprint Vans, breweries and distilleries and great restaurants all over. Above all, the IT boom known as Silicon Harbor are driving the economy and the real estate market. To be sure, the weather is pleasant most of the year and we are getting a lot of recognition. Regardless, Charleston is regularly voted #1 City in the US by Travel and Leisure Magazine. And SC is also getting a lot of good press. Also, Clemson has won a couple of national football championships, and Coastal Carolina has won a national baseball championship. It’s a great time to be in Charleston!
